The
question I'm asked most often when I consult, lecture, or
write about nutrition, is "Tell me what to take to regain
and maintain my health because I'm too overwhelmed by the
choices." The following are products that I have thoroughly
researched and that I personally use and recommend to my clients.
1.
Complete H2O Minerals. I begin with minerals
because I think they are the most depleted and the most necessary
nutrients in our bodies. These minerals are in the angstrom
size and designed to be absorbed directly into our cells where
they are needed. The company website is www.completeh2ominerals.com,
the store website is www.pureaquahealth.com,
580-362-0300. Their Balanced Life is a 'multiple mineral'.
In general, I recommend that formula along with Magnesium.
The dosage is from 1 tsp to 1 TBSP per day. If you can hold
the liquid minerals in your mouth for about a minute, their
absorption begins immediately. Start slowly with these minerals
because as they are accepted into your cells, a cleansing
process begins that helps remove the 'dirt' minerals that
have been clogging up the cells' receptor sites. People with
individual complaints will need help from their doctor to
determine through clinical symptoms, blood tests, or hair
analysis what combination of minerals they need. I am able
to help you with that process with a telephone consultation
at www.drcarolyndean.com.
Dr.
Wood's Formula: The 5 minerals originally selected are: iodine,
to support the thyroid gland, this means the entire body is
getting a boost, and the results of this are especially seen
in the skin, hair-coat, and vitality; MSM (methylsufonylmethane)
, to help repair cartilage and connective tissue, and to help
with arthritis and allergy problems; copper, to help in the
conversion of pro-elastin to elastin which restores blood
vessel elasticity and integrity; zinc, to boost the immune
system , to help skin conditions, and to restore levels consumed
by the copper; selenium, to provide relief from oxidative
stress, which many people feel is a source of many diseases
and degenerative conditions. The chemist suggested we add
indium to the mix, as it facilitates and boosts the beneficial
effects of all the elements.
2.
PROVIDE Powder. A low glycemic, nutrient-dense powder
consisting of pea/egg/apple flakes powder with a balance of
protein, carbohydrate, fat, and fiber, that I personally use
as my breakfast meal substitute. I mix one packet of PROVIDE
with alkaline water (Evamor) and a vegetable/fruit powder
from Uri International.
There
is also a PROVIDE bar, consisting of one packet of PROVIDE
powder under a thin layer of chocolate. I use these when I
need a quick meal but can't mix up the powder. PROVIDE is
great for people who skip meals because they are too busy
to eat; who grab unhealthy meals on the run; or who travel
a lot and are faced with unappetizing plane and hotel food.
It's also the best meal for diabetics because of the low glycemic
index.
To order retail from the professional line, call 905-281-2224.
The PROVIDE website (www.symagi.com)
is for people who want to participate in direct sales of the
product.
Ingredients: There are 4 grams of sugar from natural sources
essential for energy but balanced with proteins, slow digested
carbohydrates and fibres to give you slow release so you do
not experience blood glucose spikes and the accompanied insulin
response. This is evident from it's low glycemic index of
under 28.
There
is whey in the formula but it is the smallest % of the 8 grams
of protein. The company chooses a blend of proteins and other
balanced ingredients to ensure complete absorption while utilizing
the whole digestive system. The powder is gluten free and
easy for 'celiac' people to tolerate.
3.
URI International. This is a direct sales company that
produces organic vegetable and fruit powders. If you can't
get your 5 servings of vegetables and 4 servings of fruit
a day; if they aren't organic; if they are picked unripe and
treated to ripen at the end of their journey-you can get your
vegetables and fruit in powder form. Just mix in water and
drink your vegetables. My clients who have yeast overgrowth
stick with the Barley Pure and stay away from the fruit powders.

4.
Grown By Nature Supplements. Saccharomyces cerevisiae
grown on a vitamin and mineral broth creates an organic, whole-food,
non-GMO source of nutrients that are "grown by nature".
GBN supplements are well absorbed and assimilated in the body
having far more nutrients than occur in our food supply. Call
Jason at 952-479-7364to order or order from their website
at www.grownbynature.com
and the parent company at www.growco.us.
5.
Magnesium Oil and Gel. When I first wrote The Magnesium
Miracle, I realized that many people can't take oral magnesium
because of the laxative effect. Therefore I began researching
and then advising people to put supersaturated magnesium chloride-called
magnesium oil on their skin to bypass the intestines; stimulate
DHEA production that occurs in the skin; use it in baths and
foot baths for muscle aches, joint pain, and foot pain and
neuropathy. You can find out more about magnesium oil at www.globallight.net.
Dilute 50:50 with distilled water or coconut oil and apply
1-2 tsp on your skin every day. OR you can apply 50:50 diluted
mag oil with distilled water all over your body and leave
on for at least 30 minutes, then shower off because it gets
itchy when the mag oil dries. 1-888-236-2108 US & Canada.

6.
Oral Magnesium. Natural Calm "tea" in powder
form is recommended for people with low magnesium who also
need the bowel stimulating/laxative effect. Available in most
health food stores.
7.
Oral Chelated Magnesium. Jigsaw Magnesium w/SRT (sustained
release) is a capsule form of magnesium with less laxative
effects than magnesium citrate. Available online at www.jigsawhealth.com.
8.
Probiotics: Essential Blend by Jigsaw. Available online
at www.jigsawhealth.com.
Manufactured to 50 billion units--guaranteed 25 billion at
expiry. Can withstand time outside fridge. Less expensive
than most ice-shipped brands.
9.
Digestive Enzymes. Essential Blend by Jigsaw. Available
at www.jigsawhealth.com.
This product contains plant enzymes that help digest protein,
fats, and carbohydrates. If you are on a gluten- or casein-free
diet, they help digest gluten and casein usually hidden in
foods eaten in restaurants.
10.
Stevia. Called a sugar supplement, it is made from a Brazilian
plant and does not elevate insulin, grow yeast, or cause obesity.
Go to www.drcarolyndean.com
to link to SweetLeaf for the best source of stevia.
11.
Vital Choice. This company is a safe source for low mercury
fish. The safest form is wild Alaska Salmon. Go to www.vitalchoice.com
and click on the Purity link on the left and see the PDF chart
called Methyl Mercury Levels in Common Seafoods.
www.ecofish.com has organic
shrimp
12.
eVamor Water. Alkaline pH water is an important consideration
in your health program. When you drink distilled or reverse
osmosis water that is depleted of all minerals, its acid pH
must be neutralized before that water can be taken into the
alkaline blood stream. This process of neutralization depletes
minerals from the body stores or takes them directly from
tissue and bones. With the current state of soil depletion
in our country we do not obtain the minerals we need from
our diet and we increasingly depend on good sources of mineralized,
alkaline water. Go to www.eVamor.com
and click on Be There to enter your zip code and find a store
near you that carries eVamor water. The Be Wise link will
tell you the pH of common bottled waters.
13.
The Wellness Inventory at www.mywellnesstest.com
use the Group Name: drdean to learn what areas of your life
you can gently improve. Email Dr. Dean for a telephone consult
to guide you.
